I am trying to re-book from the Monte Carlo hotel into a different hotel for my Vegas trip next week. Booked through Travelocity and all of my call to their 800 number have not gone well. The number goes to India, so I have a hard time understanding the person on the other end, and they will not put me in another hotel even though obviously the Monte Carlo is not even open! Any ideas of another place I can call (I was thinking maybe corportate?). Thanks.

If you paid for your Travelocity trip via credit card you are golden…call you credit card company and challenge the charge…You will of course win…rebook where every you want…easy huh!!!!
It seems like the hotel is relocating its guests to sister hotels. I might consider calling the hotel itself and see what they can do for you. The following link will help:

Don’t challenge your card unless you have given up all hope.
Once there is a challenge on the card with your company no one at travelocity will touch the situation until the challenge with your company is resolved. (You can’t refund a challenged amount. Once challenged, it locks up the transaction.) It brings your card company into the situation and will slow the whole thing down to a snails pace- and won’t be resolved until WAAAAAY after your trip should have happened.
Call the hotel if you like- but make sure that you involve travelocity in all modifications- or they can say “you did not call us to fix it- so we are not going to pay for you wanting to make changes to your reservation” they need to verify the problem in order to take respondsibility for it
All you have to do is say “No offense, May I please speak to an American? I am having a communication problem.”
And they will transfer you to the USA. They have instructions to do this when asked.
