Mirage is $40 cheaper, but monte carlo offers 2 free buffets and food court coupons. I know monte carlo is easy to navigate, but the mirage is higher class? Where would we fit in better with having the kids with us? No judgments please. We are more likely to eat at cafe or a mid priced chain restaurant than anything high end. We have a rental car and my mother in law who doesn’t care much for walking. I have been to vegas 4 times in the last 2 years, so I am familiar with the hotels. But I really need your opinions!!! Please help!
I would recommend staying at Monte Carlo. Even though Mirage is more kid friendly, the hotels near Monte Carlo, which are New York New York, Excalibur and Luxor, are also kid friendly, especially Excalibur. In addition, Excalibur and Luxor feature food courts with cheaper dining options and New York New York offers an amazing pizza place and a very good cafe. Finally, Mirage has a smaller pool, whereas Monte Carlo offers a Wave Pool, a Lazy River, and more.
Also, if your budget allows, the whole family would probably enjoy Lance Burton’s magic show at Monte Carlo.

I would say the Mirage only because they have animal exhibits and the Volcano was just redone. It might be a little more entertaining for the kids. You do know the pools are not open this time of year though. Most of the hotels have food courts for frugal options.
Stay at Monte Carlo because they have great deals at the moment and giving away lots of freebies in the coming months.
To entertain your kids, there are lots of activities tailored to kids up and down the strip.
I would stay at Mirage if it is $40 cheaper. You will have a car and Mirage is easier to come and go from than Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo has a nice pool area, but with City Center being built next door there is a lot of noise and dust. Also a lot of construction traffic.
Staying at Monte Carlo is pretty good, it offers 2 free buffets and food court coupons, so that’s a pretty good bargain.
Monte Carlo is best for you. For cheap eats go to this site and look around.
