You will have a car and Mirage is easier to come and go from than Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo has a nice pool area, but with City Center being built next door there is a lot of noise and dust. It might be a little more entertaining for the kids. You do know the pools are not open this time of year though. Most of the hotels have food courts for frugal options. Even though Mirage is more kid friendly, the hotels near Monte Carlo, which are New York New York, Excalibur and Luxor, are also kid friendly, especially Excalibur. In addition, Excalibur and Luxor feature food courts with cheaper dining options and New York New York offers an amazing pizza place and a very good cafe. Finally, Mirage has a smaller pool, whereas Monte Carlo offers a Wave Pool, a Lazy River, and more.
