The Outlet Mall is fun, huge and you can spend an entire afternoon looking and never spend

But asking for good cheap places for kids is hard. Most casino do not want kids there. But check out online Orleans which has a great buffet that is very good (just had lunch there) and family friendly plus their Rib Joint is fantastic. Orleans is off the Strip, west of NYNY.

Its a stand alone restaraunt open 24 hours.

The hotel coffee shops and buffets are now much more expensive than they were years ago. So, if you want to eat for less go to the food courts located in many hotels and also try one of the several Denny’s restaurants on the Strip (one in the Casino Royal hotel/casino). There are also a number of McDonald, Burger King, and other fast food places on the Stip. You can get breakfast and dinner buffets a few dollars less at the Imperial Palace hotel/casino and at the Gold Coast hotel/casino. Buffets also cost less at the Circus Circus hotel/casino and in Fremont St hotel/casinos.

The Monte Carlo has a McDonalds and several other eating places. The MGM across the street has a nice food court and also a nice restaurant called the Rain Forest Cafe. Planet Hollywood has lots of eating places. There are several fast food places in O’Shea’s which is next door to the Flamingo. The Fashon Show Mall next to the Treasure Island, has a huge food court on its upper level.

There is an Outback Steak House in the Casino Royale Hotel. There is a Cheesecake Factory in Caesars Forum shops. There is a Margeritaville in the Flamingo hotel. I recommend Tony Roma’s, a ribs and chicken restaurant; one on Fremont St and another on Sahara Ave near Paradise Rd.

Here’s a listing of all of the shopping places other than the hotel shops.

There is Fashion Show Mall, which is like the malls in any city with small stores and large department stores including Macy’s and Neiman Marcus. It opens about 10:00AM and closes about 9:00 PM. (http://www.thefashionshow.com/html/index15.asp)

There is an outlet mall on the Strip just south of the airport called Las Vegas Outlet Center, 7400 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las. You can easily drive, take a bus or taxi there. It’s open every day but does close to 10:00 PM: (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=61)

Then there is a mall that people who live in Vegas use on Maryland Parkway, about a mile east of the Strip. Its called the Boulevard Mall and its address is 3528 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV. It has regular mall hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. ()

Then there is another outlet mall near downtown Las Vegas called Las Vegas Chelsia Premium Outlets, 875 South Grand Central Parkway. Its also open 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.().

Then there is an outlet mall in Primm, Nv which is about 45 minutes drive south of Las Vegas right on I-15; at the Ca/Nv border. It has all types of outlet stores and there are hotels, casinos and restaurants there also. Its worth the drive. (http://www.fashionoutletlasvegas.com/)

I have been to all of these, except the one downtown (Premium Outlets) and they are all good if you are a shopper. The one on the south end of the Strip is good. It has a good variety of the usual outlet stores. The outlet mall in Primm has some high end outlet stores like Saks.

On the western edge of Las Vegas in Summerlin is the Red Rock Hotel & Casino.

They have a rather good buffet, priced at $10.99/person. One of the best buffets for the price.

Red Rock seems geared towards family more than other hotels. Inside they have a movie theatre, bowling alley, food court (if you want to go that way) and for smaller kids a kids play room.

Their interior design is modern and much nicer than the Palms. You’ll also enjoy the waterfall designs on the exterior.

About a 20 minute drive from the strip (?) if you take the 215 Beltway east all the way around to Charleston. Red Rock is located at 215 Beltway and Charleston.

LAS VEGAS OUTLET:
Yes, I have been there. If you’re visiting on a budget and looking to do some shopping, that’s the place to go. Worth the short trip down the strip to go there.

Your price-point is more suited to Las Cruces, than Las Vegas. It is difficult to eat for that price in the overwhelming majority of the buffets, let alone a nice place.

The lunch menu at Mon-Ami-Gabi (streetfront at Paris Casino) has a number of options for $12. It has a nice feel as you are right on the strip. The people and the nearby fountains of Bellagio provide your entertainment. It you drink tap water you may come in at under $60. It is a very cute classy restaurant.

Pampas Brazilian Grill in the Miracle Mile Shops (wraps around Planet Hollywood) is a Churascerria which has lunches for around $18 per person (no drinks). This all you can eat meat menu is pretty amazing. Kids will love it.

You are asking a lot there. Unfortunately Vegas has turned to the high priced restaurants and now they are going to loose. It is fine to have a few high priced but they have all but eliminated the bargain eats. Too bad. That is what made Vegas.

Try the Restaurant at Ellis Island on Koval behind Ballys. Not the fancy place you want but the food is real good and priced low. Order their home brewed root beer. It is great. On the strip it is going to be difficult to find what you are looking for.

If you travel off the strip to a locals casino you will have better luck. Palace Station has some great restaurants that fit your requests. Tuscany has a great restaurant with good food and prices. Though not real “classy” but is it the food, the ambiance or the cost. You can’t have all three.

Well……….you’re talking about $15 per person. So that narrows your options. I’d suggest going over to the Stratosphere to Roxy’s Diner. This is a 50s diner that is retro cool. Specialities are burgers, shakes and other diner food like meatloaf. It’s a very fun place and inexpensive too.

All the outlets are pretty much the same. You find good bargains, but have to know what you are buying. For instance, did you know that many clothing stores have an outlet line of clothing just for their outlet stores? Those clothes are much cheaper and more cheaply made than clothing in their retail stores. Also, outlets sell last years and the years before merchandise that didn’t sell in their retail stores. Keep that in mind while shopping and know what you are buying.

You obviously haven’t been to Vegas before have you? In Vegas, cheap, modern and classy don’t mix and don’t exist. Cheap: try the casino buffets at Excalibur, Circus-Circus, Planet Hollywood, Sahara or Stratosphere. Or there’s always Chez McDonald’s also located on the strip. The Venetian has a food court where you can find cheap eats too. Modern – classy, Venetian, Paris, Wynn, Bellagio, Palms, Rio, MGM Grand and the list goes on and on. Modern – classy = more expensive and $60 for 4 people will not cover the bill. Choose carefully.
