its not in the center but its not at the end either, one thats in the center and is really cheap is harrahs but it smelled like smoke last time we stayed there and we were the only younger ppl in the hotel, imperial palace is really really cheap and right in the center too, but EWWWWWW dont stay there its gross, ceasers palace is a lil more expensive but right in the center, so is the mirage
Monte Carlo is in a great location as far as I am concerned. With New York New York next door and MGM Grand and Planet Hollywood across the street, there is lot of action in that area. With their $68 /night ongoing promotion, you can’t beat that rate on the strip for what you are getting. Check out the promo codes.
Yes, if you measure by distance it is about in the middle. However, if you measure by most active hotels that are clustered together, it is a little off the beaten path.
Flamingo and Las Vegas Blvd. is the busiest part of the strip with Bellagio, Caesars on one side and a cluster of some of the Caesars owed hotels on the other side. This is probably the heart of the strip.
The area know as “The Four Corners” is considered to be the center of the strip. Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Bally’s & Bills Gamblin Hall all set at this corner but there are many more major resorts all packed into that area.

Monte Carlo is on the South end of the strip. It’s a very nice hotel with a great location. But, if you want to stay center strip you might try the Flamingo, they generally have reasonable rates.
The Monte Carlo is in a great location, very accessible to all the big casinos, also there is the tram directly accross the street at the MGM. Good restaurants and pool, across the street from Showcase theater if you get bored gambling.
However… the reason the rates are so cheap is that they are doing construction on the city center next door and start up around 6am with jack hammers and heavy equiptment.
Also, they are working on the parking structure and there is not much public parking right now.
My advice is spend the extra money and stay somewhere you can get some rest!! Of course if you don’t mind all that early morning clatter or are naturally an early riser this is a great hotel and you won’t see these prices once the construction is over.
It is near enough to all the action and is a great place to stay. It is right next to NY NY and on the other side up the street a bit is Bellagio. During the day you can head south starting with NY NY then visit Excalibur. There is a free tram that runs down to Mandalay Bay and then back to the Luxor before returning to the Excalibur. You then can cross the strip via the walkway bridge and visit the Tropicana. Cross Tropicana Ave and there is the MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Paris and Bally’s (connected). Continue across Flamingo Road and you are at the Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Harrah’s, the Venetian and the Palazzo. Cross Sands ave. and you can vist the Wynn. Cross back across the Strip. It should be evening by then and you will be right in front of Treasure Island for the Sirens of TI pirate show. Another free tram takes you from TI to the Mirage to watch the volcano erupt. Then Caesars, cross Flamingo Road again and there is the Dancing Waters of the Bellagio show. Keep walking and you are back at Monte Carlo.
Or, like me, you can take this in smaller bites depending on how much time you have. Honestly, if you want to see everything in one of these magnificent hotels you can easily spend most of the day in any one of them. No matter how long you stay and how hard you try you cannot see and do everything.
It is closer to the end.
Some good center strip Hotels are The Flamingo, Harrahs, Caesers, and Mirage
