Im going to Vegas for the first time, and am really having a difficult time deciding between the Monte Carlo Resort or the Harrah’s Hotel. They are both going to cost approx. $750 for 4 nights, so price is not an issue.
To those of you that have gone to Vegas, which one is in a better location, and which one is classier/more upscale?
I would say Harrah’s. If you stay at the Monte Carlo ask for a room in the front of the building. The ones towards the rear are dirty and smelly.
Even if you request non smoking.
Mandalay Bay is better, awesome wave pool, swim up poker tables, and House of Blues which has some really great entertainment.
I go to Vegas alot and have stayed at both. Im not sure what the first person is talking about Monte Carlo being stinky! Harrahs is not all that.
Monte Carlo is wonderful! The casino is not too huge which is nice when you walk from your room to the street, it takes no time at all! The pools are awsome! They have several, a lazy river, wave pool, reg. pool, kids pool! The workers are very polite also. All in all its a clean, pretty hotel and the room are nice too. BTW our room was not in front and it was perfect too. Oh and the location is great too…its by alot of other great hotels you’ll wanna check out like NYNY and MGM! Have fun! Hope you win big!

btw $750 for 4 nites seems quite high price at either hotels.
Monte Carlo is newer, classier and more upscale. Monte Carlo is also known for its great pool, in case that’s a factor for you.
Harrah’s best feature is its mid-strip location, but Monte Carlo is still walking distance to several great properties, so that’s not much of an issue.

Monte Carlo for sure. I didn’t stay there but I went to both and I thought Monte Carlo was much nicer and it’s in a great location.
They are both really nice, but as far as “classy” compared to other casinos on the strip, they’re not. So if you’re to pick between the two Harrah’s would be a good bet. If money is no issue try the new Wynn..beautiful place. Good luck…
Harrah’s was built in 1973, remodeled in 1992 and currently has a 3 Diamond rating.
Monte Carlo was built in 1996 and currently has a 4 Diamond rating.
Monte Carlo is a much better place to stay.
