Places to stay in Vegas?

monte hotel
Tommy R asked:

I’m going to Vegas in May. And wanted to get the opinion of where to stay. I’ve recently stayed at the Luxor. Which I enjoyed. But I wanted to get something more in the middle of the strip. I’m looking at: Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, or the MGM or New York New York. I’m really looking for an overall nice hotel. Thanks for your help!

TRY STAYING AT WHAT USED TO BE THE ALLADIN IT IS NOW PLANT HOLLYWOOD I THINK IT IS RIGHT INTHE MIDDLE OF THE STRIP AND NEXT TO THE PARIS. I’VE STAYED AT MOST OF THE HOTELS ON THE STRIP AND ALL OF THEM ARE GOOD IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO PAY FOR A ROOM

I’m not sure what your budget looks like, but the Venetian is fabulous! I have stayed at Treasure Island a few times, and it seems to be the best value for the money. But I’ve noticed that their prices can sometimes equal or exceed Venetian, and if that’s the case, go to Venetian, it’s much more elegant. I have stayed at Aladdin/Planet Hollywood while it was under construction, and it was nice as well. It is in a fantistic location, pretty much central to the Strip.

Wherever you stay, get a pass for the Monorail. You can get a multi-day pass, and if you plan on going up and down the Strip alot, it is well worth the multi-day pass. Otherwise, if you’re going to pretty much stay in one place, and only make one or two trips up/down the strip, then just get a pass with limited number of uses (5 ride pass, etc). This will save your feet! And it’s much cheaper than a cab!

Treasure Island was nice but the pool is smaller. The Flamingo has a GREAT pool but the hotel is not as flashy as some of the others (still a nice hotel though)

I love NYNY, that is my favorite hotel but the most in the middle of what you have mentioned would be Treasure Island. Have you checked out Paris or Planet Hollywood (old Aladdin)?

Treasure Island is a great location and a really nice hotel. Just booked a great rate on internet. The high season is April/May so its not cheap. We did get $200 night – compared to others- that was resonable. Monte Carol would be a step down- its less $$$ but not as nice….also- (don’t laugh) Hooters Hotel was suggested to me- $129 and you get a free upgrade!!! HAVE FUN!

I love the MGM Grand-so fun! It’s not on the middle of the strip but it is on the monorail line so you can be in the middle of the strip in no time. Have fun in Vegas!!

If you are looking for something more in the middle of the strip, your choices should be narrowed to Treasure Island or the Monte Carlo. I have stayed at both and would recommend the Monte Carlo since it is connected to the Bellagio by tram.

    Paris

    Monte Carlo
