Book direct through the hotel websites using promotional offers, you can find them posted on smartervegas.com here’s a link to the offers:

You’ll find much cheaper prices than the ones you quoted.
Also if prices drop you just call the hotel and they match it. You can only do this when you book direct through the hotel.

Pay the money and do the Venetian. All of the rooms are suites with seperate tubs and showers. Stayed there about 4 yrs ago. Loved it!!!!!! Close to everything.Ask for a view of TI for great view of the show.Sirens of TI. Very luxurious with room to spread out.

I’ve stayed at the Stratosphere, Venetian, Luxor, MGM Grand as well as many others.

The Stratosphere is great if you don’t have the money to spend on a hotel, but it’s at the end of the strip away from all the other casinos.

If you have the money the Venetian is the best bet, rooms are amazing and it’s right in the middle of the strip. Luxor isn’t too bad either, and the Excaliber Tower suites are pretty nice and there is a special for $51 a night on those.

Four Queens is Downtown, nice but boring are
Statosphere is not actually on Strip and not close to the action
Signature is a condo rental but not worth the price unless you want kitchen etc
Venetian is fantatic BUT look at Palazzo instead
    Monte Carlo is very nice
Luxor is a wild adventure, a pyramid
MGM Grand is a huge casiino

Of those choices I would stay on The Strip and go with Monte Carlo

That’s an unusual collection of hotels.

Many of the hotels near the Stratosphere are ***** houses. That’s why it’s so cheap. The Sahara casino and hotel is only about 500 yards south of the Stratosphere, but it’s a lot nicer. A good place for relaxed low stakes gambling and lots of free food.
The Four Queens is downtown (several miles from the strip). Dowtown is more like being in Carnival Show. There is no shopping (just t-shirts and bric-brac). The finest downtown casino is the Golden Nugget where Steve Wynn started his career 35 years ago. Rooms start at $59.
The MGM Grand, Monte Carlo and Luxor are all owned by the same company (which owns about half the hotel rooms on the strip). MGM Grand is the nicest of the three. The Luxor is a long walk, and their is a lot of construction going on next door to the Monte Carlo.
The signature suites at MGM Grand are only about 2 years old (while the hotel is about 15 years old).
The Venetian is the most visually impressive casino/hotel on the strip.

Consultants prepare profiles of the tourists. Downtown attracts many more people than the strip who bring $300-$600 to gamble with on their trip. They are in Vegas to gamble and they don’t waste a lot of money on food or rooms or tourist shows. They are attracted to the better gambling odds. They like the fact that they can get a steak dinner for $8-$12. The strip attracts a lot of tourists who bring less than $300 to gamble, but are willing to spend more on rooms, shows, dining, and shopping.
Big time gamblers are usually seduced by the luxury of the strip.

Whatever you do, stay on the strip. I personally do not consider Stratosphere the strip. Here are some other deals worth looking into.

What an interesting cross section of hotels you have got here, this is part of the fun of Vegas the planning so many very different places and prices and planning to get he best for you an your dollar is part of the Vegas experience.

    Stratosphere 33.50/night
Used to be a cold dark nasty dump but it has had some money spent and the casino is quite nice now (don’t know about the rooms). The problem the Strat will always have is that it is too far down the strip any money saved is spent on cabs and the are around it is not good. Review here

    Four Queens 40/night
Down town casino, down town is fun I always stay at the Golden Nugget which costs more than this, you will get a basic room for this and whilst I would never advise anyone to stay a whole week downtown a few nights s a great idea, just don’t expect too much from your room.

    Signature MGM grand 140/night
Signature is nice but its not for me it’s a hike to the bits of the MGM that you want to be at and you get stung a $15 per day “resort charge” on top of whatever rate you pay. There are some good offers available though

    Venetian 149/night
Venetian is great and probably a step above all the others mentioned, the casino is good, the Grande shops are nice though I have yet to find anything I want to buy there. The casino is good but the minimum limits are higher than the rest start at about $15 and it has a good poker room.

    Monte Carlo 100/night
The Monte Carlo is a good quality hotel though it can be a little quiet, it has a nice pool but its not so nice at the minute as its only separated from the City Centre building site by a fence. The hotel is more subdued than many and can be a little too quiet. Depending on hen you are going you should be able to do better than $100 per night

    Luxor 104/night
Nice hotel on a par with Monte Carlo lots of nice bars and 2 clubs, very good buffet and large pool that does not get too crowded. It can fell a little way up the Strip sometimes but its connected to Mandalay and Excalibur both by walkway and monorail again have a look at these links you may be able to beat $100 per night

    MGM Grand 99/night
I have stayed at MGM for part of my trip on my last three visits I think it hits quality and value on the head, huge hotel, great pool complex, nice bars good choice of places to eat. The best thing is thought is the beds I have never slept on such a comftable bed as I did at MGM beats Wynn beats Bellagio the rooms are big and did I say the beds comftable. Again I think you can better that rate a bit.

When you look for a hotel in Vegas consider this. All of the big hotels on the Strip are great. The most important things to consider are location, price, and in the summer you want to consider the hotel’s pool area. So, stay on the strip in the center of all of the hotel locations so that you can walk to see all of the hotels and casinos, and all of the free attractions. The best place to stay to do that is in one of the hotels on or nearest to Flamingo Rd & the Strip. At that corner is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and the Paris hotels. I am not saying you need to stay in one of these but stay close to them. I do recommend the Flamingo and Monte Carlo hotels if you are looking for a good price, location and pool.

The next thing to consider in picking the BEST place is price. Rates go down in the summer (and again after Thanksgiving, until about mid-January (except new years eve when prices double)). So pick a place that has the best price for you. Caesars, Wynn, The Venetian, and Bellagio will cost top dollar all of the time (like $150 and up) per night during the summer. The Flamingo, Ballys Monte Carlo, and some others you can get into for around $100 (but most times for less) during the low seasons. Its also more expensive in all Vegas hotels on Friday and Saturday nights by $40 to
$60 more. So to get a lower rate plan to go to Vegas on Sunday and stay through Thursday night.

In the summer you probably want to spend some time at the pool areas, which in Vegas are fabulous. All of the big hotels have great pool areas. But the Mandalay Bay, and Monte Carlo hotels have a wave pool and a lazy river for tubing or body floating. The MGM hotel has a huge lazy river and a water fall. The Flamingo has a water slide (not big but nice and refreshing) and also a water fall. The pools at Caesars and Bellagio are good because they have multiple pools and plenty of places to sit. Caesars even has a ******* pool areas called the VENUS POOL.

I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Paris, Excalibur, MGM, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Caesars, the Rio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and Harrahs. But the BEST place for me when I go is who has the best price. Again, all of the Strip hotels are great. So shop the web sites, look at the hotel rate calendars, and go when the price is the lowest. That’s the best place to stay on the Strip.

You can probably get lower priced rooms at the Statisphere, Circus Circus, Sahara and Rivera on the north end of the Strip, the Tropicana on the south end, and also at the hotels on Fremont Street. The Tropicana is one of the older hotels that has not been renovated like many others. The other locations will place you a long way from the center of the strip action and you’ll have to take a bus or taxi to Strip action. In addition, if you need to run to the room for a little R&R, it’s a long ways.

My recommendation from among those you have listed would be Monte Carlo or MGM. I have stayed at both multiple times.

I choose strat over the 4 queens.
Do you want middle class and spend the money else where? If you do then go to the Strat. All the others are high end. My own experience is that the Venetian is the highest end of these. If you choose the Luxor only reserve in the East or West tower or you will have to spend the first twenty five minutes to get to the room.
If you like 1930′s art deco then go to the MGM Grand. The Monte Carlo has a small but nice museum.
Decide what your preference is and go with it.

Luxor/Mandalay Bay/Excalibur are 3 good choices for hotels in Vegas. Rule of thumb for the strip, all the Major Hotel/Casinos south of Sands Blvd to the MandalayBay will all be good choices. Prices will vary based upon day of the week and time of year you are planning your trip. Plan ahead.

i would say stay AWAY from the stratosphere. its far down the strip away from most of the attractions and is very scummy.

never heard of the four queens…

MGM grand is a VERY nice hotel. if you have kids its a pretty kid friendly hotel. has lots of nightclubs and places to eat and a nice pool.

venetian is for older people but a very classy hotel.

monte carlo is right in the middle of the strip which is nice and has a nice casino.

    luxor… wouldnt recommend it

i would recommend the flamingo to you also. It may seem cheap but the pool is very nice, all the rooms have just been renovated, and is in a nice place where u can watch the bellagio water show.

  13. Balu says:

Try the impperial palace.. stayed their sat- wed 4 days.. and it came to a total of 218 bucks.. not bad at all.. The imperoal is right in the center of the Las Vegas Main Strip… Check their website…

  14. Steffi says:

MGM and Luxor are great IMO. When you decided which hotel is the best for you check if there are any hotel promotions available.
